Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Rashid Latif is confident that pace bowler Hasan Ali will bounce back from his disappointing run of form with the ball.
Hasan has become a regular face in all three formats for Pakistan, but he has failed to live up to standards in the ongoing tour of South Africa.
In the three-Test series, Hasan, who played two Tests, took six wickets at an average of 44.50.
He followed that up with two wickets in three games in the five-match ODI series at an average of 53.
In the first two matches of the ongoing three-match Twenty20 series, Hasan has taken one wicket at an average of 82.
He took figures of 1-34 off four overs in the first Twenty20 International before conceding 48 runs without taking any wickets in the second fixture.
Despite his underwhelming performance throughout the tour of South Africa, Latif is optimistic that Hasan will regain his form with the ball.
“It seems that Hasan Ali believes that he has achieved everything in his career,” Latif was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder. “This is a big problem that arises in many players as they are unable to handle the stardom, but he will bounce back and perform better.”
