Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja was less than impressed with spinner Shadab Khan’s performance in the fifth ODI against South Africa in Cape Town.
Ramiz noted that Shadab had a disastrous 10 overs with the ball as he conceded 78 runs without taking any wickets.
In addition to that, Ramiz also held the 20-year-old responsible for the run out of stand-in captain Shoaib Malik, who was on 31 at the time.
“Shadab’s performance was a huge question mark, he was bowling haphazardly and didn’t bat accordingly, and got Shoaib Malik run out as well,” Ramiz was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder.
With Pakistan losing the fifth ODI by seven wickets and the series 3-2, Ramiz feels that changes need to be made to turn the national team’s fortunes around in the 50-over format.
“They need to change their combination a bit, and bring consistency in their overall cricket,” he said.
