Mujeeb Ur Rahman took three wickets and captain Chris Lynn smashed an unbeaten 56 to lead the Brisbane Heat to a six-wicket win over the Perth Scorchers.
Choosing to bowl first, the Heat got an early breakthrough as Scorchers opener Shaun Marsh was caught by Matthew Kuhnemann at cover off the bowling of Mujeeb for two runs.
Josh Inglis, who opened the batting with Marsh, only scored nine runs before he was caught by Ben Cutting off the bowling of Kuhnemann.
Ashton Turner became Mujeeb’s second victim, while captain Mitchell Marsh was sent packing by Cutting for 15.
Cameron Bancroft managed to score 32 before he was clean bowled by Mujeeb.
A great spell from Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who finishes with 3-16 from his four overs.

The Scorchers continued to lose wickets at regular intervals after Bancroft’s dismissal, but Nick Hobson’s 35-ball 43, which included two boundaries and a six, helped his side finish on 128/9.
Mujeeb and Josh Lalor, who took a hat-trick by dismissing Andrew Tye, Matthew Kelly and Hobson in successive deliveries, picked up three wickets apiece, while Kuhnemann snapped up two and Cutting chipped in with one.
Josh Lalor took the fourth hat-trick in Big Bash history… and not a single player on the field knew about it! 🙄

Chasing 129 to win, the Heat lost Cutting in the fourth over as he was caught by Jason Behrendorff at short third man off the bowling of Usman Qadir for 12 runs.
Lynn and Max Bryant made up for the loss of Cutting with a 57-run partnership before Bryant was dismissed by Clint Hinchliffe for 26.
Brendon McCullum and Matt Renshaw were both cleaned up by Kelly, but Lynn ensured the Heat got across the finish line as he ended up scoring an unbeaten 56, which came off 39 balls and included three boundaries and four sixes.
