Choosing to bowl first, the Renegades got an early breakthrough as Sixers opener Daniel Hughes was caught behind off the bowling of Richardson for a duck.
James Vince only made six runs before he was clean bowled by Harry Gurney, while captain Moises Henriques became Richardson’s second victim after scoring just three runs.
Jack Edwards was the next to go, while Jordan Silk and Josh Philippe mustered 12 and 20 runs respectively.

Chasing 116 to win, the Renegades got off to a brisk start before opener Marcus Harris was dismissed by Abbott for 10 runs.
Captain Tom Cooper and Sam Harper made up for the loss of Harris with a 54-run partnership before Cooper was clean bowled by Steve O’Keefe for a 33-ball 49, which included eight boundaries and a six.
Harper went on to score 31 before he was removed by O’Keefe.
Despite losing Cooper and Harper, Cameron White and Nabi mopped up the remaining runs to lead the Renegades to victory with seven overs to spare.
O’Keefe was the most successful bowler with two wickets, while Abbott claimed one.
Richardson was named Man of the Match.
