Kuldeep Yadav carved through Australia’s batting line-up with three wickets as India continued to add to the hosts’ woes on the third day in Sydney.
Starting off the day on 24/0, Marcus Harris and Usman Khawaja added 48 runs to the overnight score before Khawaja was dismissed by Kuldeep for 27.
Harris and Marnus Labuschagne kept the runs flowing with a 56-run partnership before Harris was clean bowled by Ravindra Jadeja for a career-best 79, which came off 120 balls and included eight boundaries.

Jadeja removed Shaun Marsh shortly after, while Mohammed Shami sent Labuschagne packing for 38.
Peter Handscomb and Travis Head temporarily kept India at bay with a 40-run stand before Head was caught and bowled by Kuldeep for 20.
Australia captain Tim Paine failed to have much of an impact with the bat as he was cleaned up by Kuldeep for five runs.
Handscomb and Pat Cummins managed to forge an unbeaten 38-run partnership before bad light and heavy rain brought play to an end for the day.
Handscomb finished on 28, which came off 91 balls and included three boundaries, while Cummins remained undefeated on 25, which came off 41 deliveries and included six boundaries.
Kuldeep was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Jadeja took two and Shami claimed one.
Australia ended day three on 236/6 and will start batting earlier on Sunday at 10:00 local time or 23:00 GMT (the previous day).
