Javed Miandad has admitted that Pakistan is likely to struggle during their tour of South Africa, which begins with the Boxing Day Test in Centurion.
The former batsman’s pessimism stems from the fact that he doesn’t believe the batsmen will fare well on the pitches in South Africa.
Furthermore, the national team will be going into the series on a low as they were beaten 2-1 by New Zealand in their Test series in the United Arab Emirates.
“I am afraid I do not expect much from the Pakistan batting line-up during the South Africa tour,” he told PakPassion. “The wickets that Pakistan will encounter in South Africa will be difficult to play on and only if the batting clicks can we have a chance of something positive from this tour.
“However, I don’t feel that our Test batsmen have the technique needed to adjust to different wickets around the world and this is not something which is a new phenomenon as far as Pakistan are concerned.”
