Colin Munro hammered an entertaining 76 not out as the Trinbago Knight Riders blew the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots away by 46 runs.

Being put in to bat first, the Knight Riders lost opener Sunil Narine early on as he was dismissed by Carlos Brathwaite for six runs.

Narine’s opening partner, Chris Lynn, managed to score 18 runs before he was clean bowled by Alzarri Joseph.

Munro and Brendon McCullum stabilised the innings with a 78-run partnership before McCullum was cleaned up by Joseph for 35.

Darren Bravo made a quickfire 18 before Munro and captain Dwayne Bravo ensured the Knight Riders ended their innings on a high as they forged an unbeaten 66-run stand.

Munro finished on 76 off 50 balls, which included three boundaries and five sixes, while Bravo, who hit five sixes in a row off Joseph’s bowling in the 19th over, made an 11-ball 37.

Thanks to Munro and Bravo, the Knight Riders concluded their innings on 199/4.

Joseph was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, while Brathwaite and Sheldon Cottrell chipped in with one wicket apiece.

Chasing 200 to win, the Patriots made a disappointing start to their innings as captain Chris Gayle was caught behind off the bowling of Anderson Phillip for nine runs.

Rassie van der Dussen was the next to go, while Evin Lewis, who opened the batting with Gayle, made 52 off 37 balls, which included two boundaries and five sixes, before he was trapped lbw off the bowling of Phillip.

The Patriots began losing wickets at regular intervals after Lewis’ dismissal.

Even though Devon Thomas and Brathwaite scored 23 and 21 respectively, the Patriots did not come close to chasing down their target as they finished on 153/8.

Phillip was the most successful bowler with three wickets, while Fawad Ahmed took two, and Bravo and Ali Khan claimed one wicket each.

Munro was named Man of the Match.
