Veteran Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik has revealed that he is eager to feature in the 2020 World Twenty20.
While he also wants to represent his country at the 2019 World Cup, Malik admitted that he is unsure what the future holds for him after the 2020 World Twenty20.
Despite being 36, Malik is a regular face in Pakistan’s limited overs squads and is a handy all-rounder as he can get the job done with both the bat and ball.
However, with an influx of young talent, there is a possibility that Malik’s time in ODI and Twenty20 squads could be coming to an end.
“The 2019 World Cup is my last World Cup, but I want to play in the World T20 in 2020; that is my goal for Twenty20 cricket,” he was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo. “These are the two big goals which I’m looking at; let’s see how it goes. If I’m consistently performing, then I want to play these two World Cups.”
