India pace bowler Mohammed Shami has called for the allegations made against him by his wife, Hasin Jahan, to be “investigated thoroughly”.
Jahan accused Shami, who has been charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal intimidation, of abusing her and having extramarital affairs with a host of other women.
She also claimed that Shami’s brother raped her and that he and Shami’s mother had tortured her and plotted to kill her.
Jahan also claimed that Shami had attempted to commit suicide while in a previous relationship.
Shami has already been charged with attempted murder, rape, assault and criminal intimidation.
Responding to all the allegations made by his wife, Shami, as quoted by DNA India, told ANI: “There have been many accusations which are increasing day-by-day. I don’t want to give an explanation about it and I want it to be investigated thoroughly.”
Shami added that he will respect whatever decision the BCCI makes in regards to the situation. The board has already withheld his contract since police proceedings are underway.
“Have full faith on BCCI, whatever decision they take will be after much deliberation and investigation. I have no tension regarding that,” the 28-year-old said.
