Wicketkeeper-batsman Kusal Perera has returned to Sri Lanka’s ODI squad for the upcoming three-match series against India.
Kusal has not played ODI cricket since he injured his hamstring while batting during the Champions Trophy in England in June.
Meanwhile, all-rounder Asela Gunaratne is also back after recovering from thumb surgery in July. Pace bowler Nuwan Pradeep has also been picked after he was ruled out of the Test series since Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) wanted to manage his workload.
Dhananjaya de Silva, who has not played ODI cricket since the Champions Trophy, and all-rounder Angelo Mathews also made the cut.
However, Test captain Dinesh Chandimal was overlooked for the series after averaging just 8.20 with the bat in the five-match ODI series against Pakistan in October.
Meanwhile, all-rounder Thisara Perera will captain Sri Lanka, but SLC made it clear that Upul Tharanga will continue leading Sri Lanka in limited overs cricket going forward.
The ODI series between India and Sri Lanka begins on December 10 in Dharamsala.
