Pace bowler Tom Curran is likely to make his ODI debut later this month after he was included in England’s squad for the five-match series against the West Indies.
Curran, who has featured in two Twenty20 Internationals to date, also found a place in the Twenty20 squad for the one-off game against the men from the Caribbean, which will be held on September 16 in Durham.
While Curran made the cut for both squads, the same could not be said about fellow seamer Mark Wood, who was left out of both squads after a heel injury sidelined him during the Test series against South Africa.
With Wood having been out of action since July, the national selectors decided against including him in the ODI and Twenty20 squads as they want him to be fully fit ahead of the Ashes in Australia later this year.
Fast bowler Steven Finn suffered the same fate as Wood, while Chris Woakes is back in both squads after recovering from a side strain.
Woakes sustained the injury in the opening game of the Champions Trophy, but he recently made his international comeback in the second Test against the West Indies at Headingley, which the men from the Caribbean won.
Meanwhile, all-rounders Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali have been rested for the lone Twenty20 International, but not the ODI series.
With Moeen missing the Twenty20 International, England have included spinners Adil Rashid and Liam Dawson in the side.
Rashid also features in the ODI squad after a strong showing in the Champions Trophy in June, where he took seven wickets in three games at an average of 20.28.
Elsewhere, Dawid Malan, Sam Billings, Mason Crane and Liam Livingstone were all dropped from the Twenty20 squad.
Malan’s removal was the most surprising as he scored a sensational 78 in his Twenty20 International debut against the Proteas on June 25.
