The Jamaican Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) have withdrawn their appeal to extend West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell’s one-year ban.

Russell was banned for a year on January 31 after failing to hand in the necessary paperwork in regards to his whereabouts when he missed three drug tests in 2015.

Under the World Anti-Doping Authority (WADA) rules and regulations, three missed tests is equivalent to a failed drug test.

After Russell was banned for 12 months, JADCO launched an appeal to see his suspension increased to two years.

But, according to Reuters, who saw the court documents, the anti-doping body has withdrawn their appeal.

Furthermore, the documents showed that Russell’s lawyers withdrew their appeal to get his one-year ban overturned.
