Corey Anderson’s all-round performance and Sam Billings’ excellent knock of 55 saw the Delhi Daredevils crush the Kings XI Punjab by 51 runs.

Electing to bat first, the Daredevils made a good start to their innings as Billings and Sanju Samson amassed a 53-run partnership.

Once Samson fell though, Karun Nair and Shreyas Iyer followed shortly after.

Billings went on to make 55 off 40 balls, which included nine boundaries, before he was dismissed by Axar Patel.

Even though the Daredevils continued to lose wickets, Anderson hammered an unbeaten 39, which came off 22 balls and included three boundaries and three sixes, to carry them to 188/6 off their 20 overs.

Varun Aaron was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, while Patel, Sandeep Sharma, Mohit Sharma and Konganda Cariappa took one wicket apiece.

Chasing 189 to win, the Kings XI found themselves in trouble right from the get-go.

With the Daredevils continuing to take regular wickets, it led to the Kings XI being reduced to 88/6 in the 14th over.

Even though Patel did his best to keep the Kings XI in contention, his valiant knock of 44 was not enough to get his side over the finish line.

Chris Morris was the most successful bowler with three wickets, while Pat Cummins and Shahbaz Nadeem chipped in with two wickets apiece. Anderson and Amit Mishra, meanwhile, claimed one wicket each.

Anderson was named Man of the Match.
