Misbah-ul-Haq will be speaking to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan in the next few days about his future as Test captain.
There has been speculation that Misbah is considering giving up the leadership role after his side were whitewashed 3-0 in their most recent Test series against Australia.
While the 42-year-old has already committed himself to Pakistan’s upcoming tour of the West Indies, his decision regarding the Test captaincy remains shrouded in mystery.
“I will meet the PCB chairman in the next two days to discuss my plan,” Misbah was quoted as saying by Dawn. “I can only confirm my availability for the upcoming series, however, as far as my career as captain goes, the board and the chairman will have the last say on that.”
Pakistan’s tour of the West Indies begins on March 31, but the three-Test series only gets underway on April 22.
