Having hosted it’s last Indian Premier League (IPL) match six years ago, the Holkar Stadium in Indore will finally be a venue for the star-studded tournament once again.

Indore held two IPL games in 2011 after it became the second home ground of the now defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerela franchise. The Holkar Stadium will host two matches this year, with the first being between the Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 10 and the other being between the Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians on April 20.

Ten venues will host IPL games this year and the highly-anticipated event, which will be entering its 10th year, will begin with defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Hyderabad.

The final will also be held in Hyderabad as according to the IPL rules, the defending champions play the first game and get the right to host the final.

The 2017 IPL will also see afternoon games played on Monday to Friday, which was something that was not in effect in last year’s event. The afternoon games will begin at 16:00 IST.
