Flamboyant West Indies opener Chris Gayle has claimed that he has still yet to be paid for playing for the Melbourne Renegades in the 2015/16 Big Bash League (BBL).

Gayle scored 260 runs in eight matches at an average of 32.50 and a strike rate of 155.68.

However, he was at the centre of a major controversy as he effectively asked out journalist Mel McLaughlin during an on-air interview.

Gayle was fined $10,000 as a result and was even released from his contract in May.

But, on Friday, he took to Twitter and lashed out at Cricket Australia as he is allegedly still waiting for his payment.

“I’m sure Players who used the Cam/Helmet while batting and commentators who did commentary last year BBL has been paid….,” he said. “So why is it I can’t get paid like all the others? It’s been 1 year now and I need my Money asap! Not because I’m from the Caribbean. #Ten.

“So make sure when I check my account next week it’s there! I done talk! Slavery Days done with! Pay Me! #Ten.”

Gayle opted not to feature in the ongoing edition of the BBL as he is nursing a back injury and wants to spend time with his family.
