Former West Indies Twenty20 captain Darren Sammy will be in action at the Hong Kong T20 Blitz from March 8-12, where he will represent the Hung Hom JD Jaguars.
Sammy holds a unique record in world cricket as he is the only skipper in history to guide his side to two World Twenty20 titles in 2012 and 2016.
“Darren Sammy is a stalwart of the game. His celebrations with the pacifier and champion dances have won him countless fans across the globe,” Jaguars coach Afzaal Haider said. “More than that, he is a very astute cricketer, who can contribute with the bat, ball and strategies.”
Sammy is the latest high-profile player to sign up for the HK T20 Blitz after the Kowloon Cantons secured the services of ex-Pakistan Twenty20 captain Shahid Afridi and the Galaxy Gladiators Lantau announced that they had signed former Sri Lanka wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Sangakkara.
