The West Indies have excluded all-rounder Kieron Pollard and wicketkeeper-batsman Denesh Ramdin from their squad for the ODI tri-series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka next month.

Pollard and Ramdin received an email from Courtney Browne, the head of the West Indies selection committee, informing them that they had been dropped.

In the email, which was accessed by ESPNcricinfo, Browne also said that the duo were welcome to speak to him about why they hadn’t been picked for the ODI tri-series.

Pollard and Ramdin were in dismal form during the recent limited overs series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates as the former scored 43 runs in the three-match Twenty20 series at an average of 21.50 and went wicketless. In the ODI series that followed, Pollard only amassed 42 runs at an average of 14 in the three matches and took one wicket.

Ramdin, meanwhile, did not feature in the Twenty20 series, but he did play in all three of the ODIs and could only muster 79 runs at an average of 26.33.
