More than half an hour before the scheduled start of play, the first Test between South Africa and New Zealand ended as a draw as outfield conditions were deemed too unsafe.
Following 65mm of rain midway through the second day, there has been no play possible as the outfield became too damp and soft to play on.
Prior to the rain ruining the entire Test match, New Zealand had been reduced to 15/2 after South Africa made 263 in their first innings.
Following the disappointing conclusion to the first Test, both sides will be raring to get on the pitch when the action moves to Centurion for the second and final Test on Saturday.
