Former Sri Lanka batsman Mahela Jayawardene smashed a sensational 124 to lead the Sagittarius Strikers to a 63-run win over the Libra Legends.
Strikers captain Adam Gilchrist would have been thrilled with his decision to bat first as he and Jayawardene put together a 102-run partnership before he was caught and bowled by Nicky Boje for 38.
Despite the loss of Imran Farhat a while later, Jayawardene continued to take the attack to the Legends and ended up making 124 off 60 balls, which included 10 boundaries and nine sixes.
Thanks to Jayawardene, the Strikers finished on 227/3 off their 20 overs.
Boje, Brad Hogg and Ryan ten Doeschate picked up one wicket apiece.
Chasing 228 to win, Sean Ervine was the only batsman to have a major impact for the Legends as he scored 55 off 20 deliveries, which included four boundaries and five sixes.

With skipper Jacques Kallis and wicketkeeper Tim Ambrose being the only other batsmen to surpass the 20-run mark, the Legends fell well short of their target as they finished on 164/7 off their 20 overs.
Shane Bond and Daniel Vettori took two wickets apiece, while Farhat and Nathan Hauritz claimed one wicket apiece.
Jayawardene was named Man of the Match.
