Cameron Bancroft and Ashton Agar both smashed half-centuries as the Perth Scorchers cruised to a 30-run win over the Sydney Thunder.
Thunder captain Shane Watson would have been pleased with his decision to bowl first early on as Scorchers skipper Michael Klinger and Marcus Harris were dismissed in quick succession.
Shaun Marsh made a solid 28 before Bancroft and Agar took over and dispatched the Thunders’ bowling attack all over the Sydney Showground Stadium.
Bancroft went on to score 72 off 53 balls, which included three boundaries and three sixes, before he was given out lbw off the bowling of Andre Russell.
Agar meanwhile hammered 68 off 34 deliveries, which included five boundaries and four sixes, before he was run out by wicketkeeper Chris Hartley.

Thanks to Bancroft and Agar, the Scorchers finished on 175/5 off their 20 overs.
Russell was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, while Clint McKay and Andrew McDonald chipped in with one wicket apiece.
Chasing 176 to win, Russell starred for the Thunder with the bat as well as he blasted 42 off 20 balls, which included five sixes. However, he did not receive enough support from his team-mates as none of them were able to get past 20 runs.
As a result, the Thunder fell well short of their target as they finished on 145/9 off their 20 overs.
Jason Behrendorff and Andrew Tye snapped up three wickets apiece, while Brad Hogg took two and Joel Paris claimed one.
Bancroft was named Man of the Match.
