Chamu Chibhabha scored 53 and took four wickets to help Zimbabwe crush Afghanistan by 65 runs and level the series at 2-2.

Zimbabwe captain Elton Chigumbura would have been pleased with his decision to bat first as Chibhabha and Peter Moor amassed a 92-run partnership, during which Moor brought up his half-century, before he was dismissed by Rashid Khan.

Moor’s solid knock of 52 came off 72 balls and included four sixes.

Zimbabwe lost Malcolm Waller soon after before Chibhabha was on his way back to the pavilion after having scored 53 off 92 deliveries, which included one boundary and a six.

Following Chibhabha’s dismissal, Zimbabwe began to lose wickets at regular intervals and, with none of their other batsmen making major contributions, they were ultimately bowled out for 226.

Khan and Dawlat Zadran picked up three wickets apiece, while Amir Hamza and Mirwais Ashraf chipped in with two wickets each.

Chasing 227 to win, wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Shahzad and Hashmatullah Shahidi were the only two batsmen to make decent scores as the former scored 45, while the latter made 31.

With all the other batsmen failing to contribute, Afghanistan fell well short of their target as they were skittled out for 161.

Chibhabha was the most successful bowler with four wickets, while Graeme Cremer, Luke Jongwe and Neville Madziva claimed two wickets each.

Chibhabha was named Man of the Match.
