India spinner Ravindra Jadeja sliced through South Africa’s batting line-up and ended up registering a five-wicket haul on the second day of the fourth Test in Delhi.
However, prior to Jadeja leaving the Proteas in a spin, India batsman Ajinkya Rahane stole the spotlight as he continued from where he left off on day one and converted his overnight score of 89 into 127, which came off 215 balls and included 11 boundaries and four sixes.

For Rahane, the knock will be a memorable one as it marked his first Test century on home soil.
However, just when South Africa though they might have been back in contention following the dismissal of Rahane, they were given a rude awakening by spinner Ravichandran Ashwin as he made 56 off 140 deliveries, which included six boundaries and a six.

Thanks to Rahane and Ashwin, India managed to reach 334 before they were bowled out.
Kyle Abbott was the pick of the bowlers with five wickets, while Dane Piedt snapped up four.

Trailing by 334, South Africa struggled right from the get-go as Jadeja ripped through their top order with some help from Umesh Yadav.
South Africa batsman AB de Villiers ended up being his side’s top-scorer with 42 runs as the Proteas were bowled out for 121, which gave India a 213-run lead.
Jadeja was the most successful bowler with five wickets, while Yadav and Ashwin chipped in with two wickets apiece and Ishant Sharma claimed one.
India opted not to enforce the follow-on, but just as their openers were heading out the bat, the umpires sent them back to the pavilion and brought play to an end due to bad light.
India will begin their second innings tomorrow at 09:30 local time or 04:00 GMT.
