New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor scored an unbeaten 235, while Kane Williamson made a spectacular 166 as the Blackcaps fought their way back into contention on the third day of the second Test in Perth.
Starting out the day on 140/2, Williamson and Taylor converted their 53-run stand into a 265-run partnership, during which Williamson surpassed the 150-run mark, while Taylor registered his 13th Test century.
The partnership was finally broken when Williamson was caught by Mitchell Johnson at mid-on off the bowling of Josh Hazlewood.
Williamson’s brilliant innings of 166 came off 250 balls and included 24 boundaries.

Taylor and captain Brendon McCullum continued to take the fight to Australia as they amassed an 80-run stand before McCullum was clean bowled by Mitchell Marsh for 27.
Even though New Zealand lost BJ Watling and Doug Bracewell soon after, Taylor stood his ground and worked his way towards bringing up his second double hundred. By the end of the day, Taylor and Mark Craig had put together an unbeaten 25-run partnership.
Taylor finished on 235 off 308 balls, which included 34 boundaries, while Craig remained undefeated on seven off 23 deliveries, which included one boundary.
Mitchell Starc was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, while Hazlewood, Johnson, Marsh and Nathan Lyon chipped in with one wicket apiece.
New Zealand ended day three on 510/6 and will continue batting tomorrow at 10:30 local time or 02:30 GMT.
