Darren Bravo hammered a quickfire 40 and his brother Dwayne took three wickets as they helped the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel ease past the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 18 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis method.

Dwayne Bravo would have been pleased with his decision to bat first as his side got off to a solid start before they lost William Perkins for 15.

Just a short while after Perkins’ dismissal, the rain came and the game was subsequently reduced to 14 overs per side.

Unfortunately for the Red Steel, it seemed as if the Patriots benefited from the rain delay as they got rid of Jacques Kallis, Kamran Akmal and Dwayne Bravo in quick succession.

But, it was at this point that Darren Bravo stepped up and launched his incredible assault, during which he scored 40 runs off just 15 balls, which included one boundary and five sixes.

Thanks to his knock, the Red Steel finished on 134/5 off their 14 overs.

Sohail Tanvir, Raymon Reifer, Tabraiz Shamsi and Jomel Warrican picked up one wicket apiece.

Chasing 135 to win, none of the Patriots batsmen, with the exception of opener Evin Lewis, made a valuable contribution.

With Lewis scoring 40 off 22 balls, which included two boundaries and five sixes, and skipper Marlon Samuels only adding 25, it was no surprise that the Patriots fell short of their target.

Dwayne Bravo and Derone Davis snapped up three wickets each, while Johan Botha claimed one.
