St Kitts and Nevis Patriots opener Evin Lewis smashed 82 and left-arm spinner Tabraiz Shamsi took four wickets to lead their side to a 119-run win over the Jamaica Tallawahs.

Lewis began to dominate right after Tallawahs captain Chris Gayle put the Patriots in to bat. Lewis hammered the Tallawahs’ bowling attack all over the place and ended up making 82 off 45 balls, which included six boundaries and six sixes, before he was run out by Mahela Jayawardene.

Lewis was well supported by Carlos Brathwaite, who walloped two boundaries and three sixes during his quickfire knock of 36, and opener Martin Guptill, who made 35.

As a result of Lewis, Brathwaite and Guptill’s contributions, the Patriots finished on 199/5 off their 20 overs.

Krishmar Santokie, Rusty Theron and Andre Russell picked up one wicket apiece.

Chasing 200 to win, the Tallawahs never got out the starting blocks as only three batsmen managed to make it to double figures.

To put their innings into perspective, Chris Lynn top-scored with 20, while Russell was the second-highest scorer with 18.

Since none of the other batsmen were able to make runs, the Tallawahs were ultimately bowled out for 80.

Shamsi was the most successful bowler with four wickets, while Sheldon Cottrell snapped up three and Shahid Afridi claimed two.
