St Lucia Zouks opener Andre Fletcher hammered 77 and batsman Kevin Pietersen smashed 73 to lead their side to a 30-run win over the Barbados Tridents.

Zouks captain Darren Sammy would have been thrilled with his decision to bat first even though most of the innings was dominated by Fletcher and Pietersen.

The duo even amassed a 138-run partnership, during which both batsmen brought up their half-centuries, before Pietersen was dismissed by Jeevan Mendis for 73 off 39 balls, which included seven boundaries and four sixes.

Fletcher ended up making 77 off 50 deliveries, which included three boundaries and five sixes, to carry the Zouks to 202/5 off their 20 overs.

Mendis was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Ravi Rampaul and Rayad Emrit chipped in with one wicket apiece.

Chasing a mammoth target of 203 to win, many of the Tridents batsmen, including Dilshan Munaweera, Malik and captain Kieron Pollard, got off to promising starts before throwing their wickets away.

With that being the theme throughout the innings, it was no surprise to see the Tridents fall well short of their target.

Sammy was the most successful bowler with three wickets, while Fidel Edwards, Nathan McCullum and Shane Shillingford claimed one wicket each.

Fletcher was named Man of the Match.
