Bangladesh pace bowler Taskin Ahmed has been ruled out for at least three weeks after suffering a tear on his left side.
Ahmed missed the third ODI against India and has been listed as doubtful for the upcoming Twenty20 and ODI series against South Africa.
“I felt a bit of tightness on my left side while bowling in the second game [against India] and I hurt myself in the training session before the third game,” Ahmed told ESPNcricinfo. “The physio sent me to do an MRI immediately but I am hoping I will be fit within a short time for the South Africa series.”
Despite his setback, Ahmed wished his team-mates all the best and hopes that they are able to carry the momentum from their 2-1 win over India into the series against South Africa.
“I am getting newer experiences day by day. We are doing well as a team,” he said. “I am personally happy to win the series and I hope we do well against South Africa.”
