Taylor finished with a career-best 6-47 off 25 overs

Jerome Taylor has become the first West Indian pace bowler to take a six-for in a Test match against Australia.

Taylor accomplished the feat on the second day of the second Test in Jamaica when he finished with career-best figures of 6-47. This was also Taylor’s fourth five-wicket haul, with his other three coming against England, India and Pakistan.

Prior to Taylor, the best Test figures by a West Indian pace bowler against Australia belonged to the legendary Malcolm Marshall, who finished with 5-51 during a Test match in April 1984.

Taylor has also become the third West Indian bowler after Sir Wes Hall and Corey Collymore to take three five-wicket hauls at Sabina Park.
