Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah will miss the upcoming home series against India after he fractured his left index finger during a training session on Thursday.
Mahmudullah sustained the injury when trying to take a catch and is expected to be out of action for approximately three to four weeks.
“Mahmudullah hurt the index finger on his left hand while attempting a catch during training today,” Bangladesh physiotherapist Bayjedul Islam Khan told reporters. “X-rays revealed a fracture which usually takes three to four weeks to heal.”
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have yet to name a replacement for Mahmudullah, who was set to feature in the one-off Test against India in Fatullah on June 10 and the three-match ODI series, which begins on June 18 in Mirpur.
