Pakistan pace bowler Mohammad Sami and all-rounder Shoaib Malik have both been included in the ODI squad for the upcoming three-match series against Zimbabwe after long absences.
Sami’s last ODI came in June 2012, while Malik has not been seen in the 50-over format since June 2013.
However, there was no place in the side for spinner Saeed Ajmal, who had his bowling action cleared by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in February.
There was also no place in the side for Umar Gul, Rahat Ali and Zulfiqar Babar as Wahab Riaz, Anwar Ali, Junaid Khan and Yasir Shah have all performed well as of late.
In addition to Gul, Ali and Babar, opener Sami Aslam, middle order batsman Saad Nasim, all-rounder Fawad Alam and wicketkeeper-batsman Umar Akmal have all been dropped as well.
