Sri Lanka pace bowler Dushmantha Chameera has been drafted into the country’s World Cup squad as a replacement for fellow seamer Dhammika Prasad.
Prasad was ruled out of the tournament after breaking his hand during a training session on Saturday. The injury occurred when Prasad was struck on the hand by a ball smashed back at him by all-rounder Thisara Perera.
Sri Lanka could have also picked Shaminda Eranga, but decided to go with the 23-year-old instead.
After having lost their first warm-up match against South Africa, Sri Lanka will look to bounce back in their second warm-up match against Zimbabwe on February 11 in Lincoln.
Sri Lanka’s first World Cup match will be against New Zealand in Christchurch on February 14.
