Bangladesh have never hosted an international series in July-August, but all that is about to change after it was confirmed that South Africa will tour the country during those months this year.

Even though that period of time is known as the monsoon season, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have announced that the series will consist of two Twenty20 Internationals, three ODIs and two Tests.

In addition to the South Africa series, the BCB’s media committee chairman Jalal Yunus revealed that Bangladesh will also host Pakistan, India and Australia in 2015.

South Africa will arrive in Bangladesh on June 30 and play a warm-up Twenty20 match in Fatullah on July 3. The two Twenty20 Internationals will be played in Mirpur on July 5 and 7, while the ODI series will get underway on July 10. The Test series meanwhile will begin on July 21 in Chittagong.

“This tour was set four or five years ago in the FTP,” BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury said. “We tried to change the schedule but we had to match with South Africa.”
