Led by David Warner’s century, Australia’s top four batsmen pummeled India on the first day of the fourth Test in Sydney.
Australia stand-in captain Steven Smith would have been delighted with his decision to bat first after Warner and Chris Rogers amassed a 200-run partnership, during which Warner brought up his 12th Test century and Rogers his half-century, before Warner was caught by Murali Vijay at gully off the bowling of Ravichandran Ashwin.
Warner’s superb knock of 101 came off 114 balls and included 16 boundaries.
Rogers went on to make 95 off 160 deliveries, which included 13 boundaries, before he was clean bowled by Mohammed Shami.
