Surrey batsman Jason Roy will feature in the ongoing edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) after signing a three-game deal with the Sydney Thunder.

Roy will replace England ODI captain Eoin Morgan on January 1 since he will be preparing for the upcoming ODI tri-series against Australia and India.

Roy is likely to make his debut for the Thunder when they take on the Hobart Hurricanes in Sydney on January 9.

Roy revealed that he is looking forward to playing alongside legendary South Africa all-rounder Jacques Kallis since he was his childhood hero.

“To be able to play alongside him is going to be an amazing experience and I’m looking forward to picking his brain along the way,” Roy said.
