Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has been ruled out for the rest of the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand after sustaining a hamstring injury during the second ODI in Sharjah.

As a result of ul-Haq’s injury, veteran all-rounder Shahid Afridi will lead the team for the last three ODIs.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have announced that they are still unsure about whether ul-Haq will stay with the team or return back to Pakistan.

Pakistan are also without the services of pace bowler Umar Gul and all-rounder Bilawal Bhatti after the former sustained a bruised tendon in his left ankle and the latter injured his hand.
