Sri Lanka wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Chandimal has been recalled into the ODI squad for the sixth and seventh ODI against England.

Opening batsman Dimuth Karunaratne and leg-spinner Seekkuge Prasanna have both been included in the squad as well.

It has also been announced that opener Kusal Perera and spinner Ajantha Mendis have been dropped.

Perera has only scored 99 runs at a dismal average of 19.80 in the five matches he has played.

However, the decision to drop Mendis comes as a surprise, especially since he has been Sri Lanka’s most successful bowler with nine wickets.

Sri Lanka ODI squad: Angelo Matthews (capt), Lahiru Thirimanne, Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Dimuth Karunaratne, Dinesh Chandimal, Jeevan Mendis, Sachithra Senanayake, Seekkuge Prasanna, Thisara Perera, Suranga Lakmal, Dhammika Prasad, Lakshan Sandakan, Dilruwan Perera
