The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have given the Supreme Court three options in regards to what action should be taken against Chennai Super Kings official Gurunath Meiyappan.

Meiyappan, who is International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Narayanaswami Srinivasan’s son-in-law, was found guilty of illegal betting during the 2013 Indian Premier League (IPL) season by the Mudgal report.

The options presented to the Supreme Court were:

  • The IPL governing council to decide on quantum of punishment
  • Appointment of two independent judges to decide on punishment
  • The Mudgal panel to decide on punishment
