Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Ranjib Biswal has announced that West Indian players will not be banned from playing in the tournament next year.

Biswal’s decision comes after the West Indies pulled out midway through their tour of India due to an ongoing pay dispute with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA).

“It depends upon them (West Indies players),” Biswal said. “If they want to play IPL they are welcome.

However, while West Indian players will still be allowed to participate in the IPL, the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) working committee recently decided to suspend all bilateral tours to the Caribbean.
