Bangladesh all-rounder Muktar Ali has been ruled out of the Asian Games after succumbing to a side strain.

Ali will be replaced by Ziaur Rahman, who is another all-rounder.

Since Ali was the only uncapped player in Bangladesh’s Asian Games squad, it now means that every member of the 15-man team has international experience.

Ali’s injury is a major blow for Bangladesh as they are already without spinner Sohag Gazi and pace bowler Al-Amin Hossain since both of them have been reported for having suspicious bowling actions.

Bangladesh will play their first Asian Games match on October 1.

Bangladesh squad for Asian Games: Mashrafe Mortaza (capt), Tamim Iqbal, Anamul Haque, Imrul Kayes, Mohammad Mithun, Shamsur Rahman, Shakib Al Hasan, Shuvagata Hom, Sabbir Rahman, Mahmudullah, Nasir Hossain, Arafat Sunny, Ziaur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed
