St Lucia Zouks all-rounder Sohail Tanvir took three wickets and scored an unbeaten 20 to help his side breeze past the Antigua Hawksbills by five wickets in a rain-affected encounter at the Beausejour Stadium.

Tanvir was well supported by South Africa batsman Henry Davids, who scored 43 runs.

Due to the heavy rain prior to the start of the match, the umpires decided to cut the game down to 16 overs per side.

St Lucia captain Darren Sammy made the right choice to bowl first as Antigua opener Ben Dunk was given out lbw off the third ball of the match.

Devon Thomas only made two runs before he was caught by Shane Shillingford at mid-off off the bowling of Mervin Mathew.

Shacaya Thomas fared no better as he was caught by Johnson Charles off the bowling of Shillingford for 10 runs.

Danza Hyatt was the top-scorer with 26 runs, which came off 36 balls and included one boundary and a six, before he was run out by Sammy.

David Hussey smashed a quickfire 16 before he was caught by Charles at long-on off the bowling of Tanvir.

Tanvir struck again just three balls later when Sheldon Cottrell was clean bowled for a duck.

Antigua captain Marlon Samuels and Carlos Brathwaite amassed an unbeaten 32-run partnership to carry the team to 103/6 off their 20 overs.

Tanvir was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Mathew and Shillingford chipped in with one wicket apiece.

Chasing 104 to win, St Lucia got off to a horrible start as their top three batsmen were back in the pavilion with only 21 runs on the board.

Davids and Sunil Ambris stabilised the innings with a 46-run partnership before Ambris was run out by Brathwaite for 17 runs.

Davids went on to make 43 off 35 balls, which included three boundaries and a six, before he was caught by JJ Athanaze, who was the substitute fielder, at long-on off the bowling Cottrell.
