England all-rounder Ben Stokes has been recalled into the Test squad for the national team’s upcoming five-Test series against India, which gets underway on July 9 in Nottingham.

Stokes’ last Test match for England came against Australia during the last Ashes series.

However, Stokes has not represented England in any format of the game since he broke his hand after punching a locker during a Twenty20 International against the West Indies on March 13.

But, Stokes regained his spot on the Test roster after putting up some impressive performances for Durham. One performance that truly stands out came in a County Championship match against Sussex, where Stokes recorded his career-best bowling figures of 7 for 67.

England Test Squad: Alastair Cook (capt), Sam Robson, Gary Ballance, Ian Bell, Joe Root, Moeen Ali, Matt Prior, Chris Jordan, Stuart Broad, Liam Plunkett, James Anderson, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes
