Former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff’s comeback has been put on hold after he was omitted from Lancashire’s squad for their Natwest T20 Blast match against Yorkshire on June 6.
Flintoff has not played any international or first-class cricket since announcing his retirement in 2009.
Flintoff recently played for Lancashire’s Second XI against Leicestershire at Arundel and took two wickets, while also making 16 runs.
“I’m just going to see where it goes,” Flintoff said. “I appreciate that Lancashire are on a roll in Twenty20s and there’s Jos and Jimmy and people to come back in to that side. So it’s not a gimme that I’m going to play. But I’m going to try to put myself in the frame.”
