It seems the feud between Royal Challengers Bangalore pace bowler Mitchell Starc and Mumbai Indians batsman Kieron Pollard is still red hot following their on-field altercation on May 6.
The incident occurred in the 17th over of Mumbai’s innings when Starc bowled a bouncer to Pollard and followed it up with a few choice words. Things got way out of hand just two balls later when Pollard pulled out when Starc was running in to bowl. Instead of returning to his run-up mark, Starc deliberately aimed the ball at Pollard and the powerful West Indian responded by throwing his bat. Luckily, the bat slipped out of Pollard’s hands before he could complete the throw.
“Kieron’s done that a lot in the past and I don’t think it’s worth talking about,” Starc told the Times of India. “No, I’ve got no time for Pollard and I haven’t talked to him at all.
“That sort of situation would probably warrant yellow and red cards if it ever does come to that. But I’m definitely staying out of that sort of thing anyway. It’s not in my nature to get involved in that sort of stuff. It was a heat-of-the-moment thing.”
