Jamaican sprint sensation Yohan Blake has been invited to train with Yorkshire during the ongoing county season.

Blake, who was the 100m world champion in 2011, claims that he can bowl at 90mph and has often said that his dream is to play cricket in England.

The 24-year-old currently plays for Kingston Cricket Club in Jamaica and has expressed his desire to switch sports when he retires from athletics in about four years’ time.

Blake even revealed that there may be a chance of him signing with Yorkshire.

“We have some talks with some of the people (at Yorkshire) and we are looking forward for it,” Blake told the BBC. “I’ve been wanting to play for Yorkshire or in England – after running I’ll put my mind to that.”

A Yorkshire spokesman added: “At this stage, we’re flattered that Yohan has expressed an interest in being involved and playing with Yorkshire. We’re always on the lookout for fresh talent. Let’s get him in the nets and see what he’s made of.”
