The SWALEC stadium in Cardiff will host the first Test of the 2015 Ashes series.
England will be looking to avenge their humiliating 5-0 whitewashing at the hands of Australia in December.
It was also revealed that Old Trafford in Manchester will not host one of the Ashes Tests, despite recently undergoing a multi-million pound redevelopment.
“Next summer promises to be a hugely exciting international season with England’s bid to regain the Ashes set to be one of the major highlights of the sporting year,” England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) chief executive David Collier said. “We’re also delighted to be hosting New Zealand again across all three formats of the international game and would like to thank all those county and international venues who will be hosting our touring teams next year.”
Australia head coach Darren Lehmann stated that he was confident his side would be able to defend the urn.
“Logistically the itinerary is fine,” he told Sky Sports. “The series will probably be bigger than the last one.
“Holding on to the Ashes will be important and we’re excited by the schedule and the venues.
“We go to the West Indies for a two-Test series beforehand and get to England 10 days before we play Kent at Canterbury. So there is plenty of time, a 10-day lead-in, two tour matches and then the first Test. Plenty of time to get acclimatised, get used to the Dukes balls and the pitches in England.”
