The Chennai Super Kings will not play any of their home matches at the MA Chidambaram Stadium during this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) due to a dispute with the municipal authorities.
The dispute concerns the use of three stands at the stadium.
“There will be no IPL matches in Chennai this year, even the playoffs,” the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association’s secretary Kasi Viswanathan told ESPNcricinfo.
The remainder of Chennai’s home matches are likely to be moved to Ranchi, which is already hosting two of the Super Kings’ home matches.
However, IPL chairman Ranjib Biswal noted that the governing council will be looking for alternative venues.
