Sri Lanka will host Pakistan for two Tests and three ODIs in August, officials from both Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have confirmed.

No specific dates have been set yet, but it is rumoured that Pakistan will fly to Sri Lanka in July for a tour match prior to the start of their series.

Following the World Twenty20, Pakistan were looking at a six-month break from international cricket until Australia travelled to the United Arab Emirates in October, but PCB officials were quick to accept SLC’s offer for a series.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka last met in December 2013 for three Tests, five ODIs and two Twenty20 Internationals in the United Arab Emirates.

Pakistan won the ODI series 3-2, while both the Test and Twenty20 series were drawn 1-1.
