Kamungozi has not represented Zimbabwe since October 2006

In a rather surprising move, Zimbabwe have included 26-year-old leg-spinner Tafadzwa Kamungozi in their squad for the qualifying round of the World Twenty20, which takes place in Bangladesh next month.

Kamungozi’s selection comes as a huge shock since he has not represented Zimbabwe in any international matches since October 2006.

Zimbabwe will have to beat Ireland, Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates to progress to the Super 10 stage of the tournament.

Zimbabwe World T20 Squad: Brendan Taylor (captain), Hamilton Masakadza, Prosper Utseya, Elton Chigumbura, Sean Williams, Malcolm Waller, Vusi Sibanda, Sikandar Raza Butt, Brian Vitori, Tendai Chatara, Natsai M’shangwe, Shingirai Masakadza, Timycen Maruma, Tafadzwa Kamungozi, Tinashe Panyangara
