“His international cricket career remains under an injury-darkened cloud”

New Zealand head coach Mike Hesson has announced that veteran all-rounder Daniel Vettori “won’t be considered for the India series” as he is still trying to regain his form after recovering from a number of injuries.

Hesson also admitted that Vettori’s international career “remains under an injury-darkened cloud”.

“Daniel Vettori won’t be considered for the India series and his international cricket career remains under an injury-darkened cloud,” Hesson said.

Hesson also revealed that he will speak to Vettori, who is currently representing the Brisbane Heat in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL), about his international career at the end of the month.

“I’ve spoken to Dan and he wants to come back from Australia and see how his body is, then have a good catch up with Brendon (McCullum) and I and chat about his future,” Hesson said.
